The stars were stepping on to the Oscars red carpet tonight for the biggest event in the showbiz calendar.
One of the first to arrive at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles was Michael Sheen, who plays Tony Blair opposite best actress favourite Dame Helen Mirren in The Queen.
He paid tribute to his "sexy" co-star, telling TV channel E!: "I think she's been a very attractive lady for some time. She attracts a lot of men and she certainly attracted me. It was a very odd feeling playing scenes obviously with the Queen when you're kind of going, 'She's sexy'.
"She's got a wicked sense of humour and she's really mischievous but she's a lovely, lovely woman and it was such a pleasure to work with her.
The 38-year-old said he was "pretty sure" the Prime Minister had seen the film about the days after the death of Princess Diana by now.
"I think the royal family's seen it," he added. "I think everyone comes out of it very favourably so I don't see they've got anything too much to complain about."
The actor also revealed there was a downside to playing the politician, which he has now done twice.
"He's not the most popular man in Britain right now so sort of I try and keep it under my hat that I play him," he said. www.metro.co.uk
Bob Strauss' (Film Critic) top 10 movies of 2006: `The Queen' tops his list
"The Queen: The most astute political film in a long, long time. Helen Mirren as Elizabeth II and Michael Sheen as Tony Blair show us everything there is to know about the human dimensions of power. And while the movie doesn't let anybody off easy, it understands every conflicting point of view at an organic level. And the cultural satire is funny as hell."
"The movie portrays the attempts of newly-elected Prime Minister Tony Blair to persuade a distant Queen Elizabeth II to reconnect with the British public after the death of Princess Diana in a car crash in August 1997, and shows a family in crisis unable to respond to the country's grief."
